hot-meusliMuesli can be served as either a hot or cold cereal. Try this recipe for hot muesli – prepare it just as you would porridge by cooking raw muesli in milk.

 Milk

1 cup

 Raw muesli

½ cup

1 cup

 Chopped fruit (apples, bananas, pears or  strawberries)

½ cup

1 cup

 Plain yoghurt

To taste

To taste

 Honey

To taste

To taste

 

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the milk to the boil.
  2. Add muesli and fruit, turn down heat and cook 4-5 minutes.
  3. Serve topped with yoghurt and a little honey if liked

Microwave

  1. Place milk, muesli and fruit in a microwave-safe container and cover with plastic wrap.
  2. Cook on high power for 1 minute for 1 serving and 2 minutes for 2 servings. Stir to combine, replace wrap and stand 1-2 minutes.
  3. Serve topped with yoghurt and a little honey if liked.
